What Are You Going To Create in 2018?
Knowing yourself and what inspires you is essential because ultimately when you hit the challenges you'll need your sense of purpose, your inspiration to carry you through.
Before you get into setting intentions or goals or making yourself promises for the year, first connect to what inspires you, develop a sense of purpose, get tuned into what you are here to leave behind*.
This is where you need to create a vision. A vision comes from a combination of your inspired imagination (possibilities that excite you) and your wisdom, the knowledge you've gained over the years plus your inner knowing (yes, trust yourself and don't get influenced by what others tell you unless what they say feels right for you and inspires you).
And then once you have that vision it's time to start thinking how you can make that vision a reality. What steps do you need to take to make it happen?
I've found it helpful to figure out the steps, picking one as a goal, a tangible thing to make happen and leaving space in my life for flow to bring me the opportunities to fulfil some of the other steps.
This technique also stops me getting overwhelmed and exhausted by my own rigid planning, lets me get my sense of achievement by setting one specific, achievable goal at a time, but also leaves room for me to be surprised and delighted by the opportunities that are given to me to achieve the other steps without me having had to stress about them.
Of course I have to have an idea of what the other steps may be in order for me to know which opportunities are the right ones for me to take, so being clear about your overall vision and how it may become a reality is really helpful!
