Struggling to See Your Path Ahead?
Are you struggling to see the right way ahead for you? If you're anything like me you'd so much prefer to know where you are going and how you are going to get there. Pity life doesn't work like that! Darn. Lol! We keep seeking clarity. We keep wanting to know. We try to understand. We keep slipping into thinking, thinking mode. No surprise really given that our education focuses on our thinking skills, maybe a little on our creative skills but definitely not on our emotional skills, nor our intuitive skills. The thing is thinking, our brain, our logic is simply one of our tools. It isn't who we are and cannot have all the answers. It is just too limited, too dependant on having all the facts. This is what you can do: 1. Get clear on your PURPOSE, what you love, what gives you a sense of meaning and what leaves you feeling fulfilled. 2. Know what you VALUE in various areas of your life, e.g. in your friendships you may value integrity, respect, kindness and use that as a basis for your decision making in that area. 3. Know what really PISSES YOU OFF, the stuff that makes your blood boil. Notice what you are continually talking about. Those are the areas where you need to do your work in this world. 4. Based on your answers to 1,2 and 3 come up with some KEY THINGS you'd like to work towards, resolve, make a difference in whether that's personally, in your local area, worldwide or some other area. 5. Now ask yourself what the FIRST STEP is on the road to what you are working towards. Take that step. 6. Having taken that step, you probably already know what the NEXT ONE is, so take it. 7. Never worry about 10 steps ahead. Plan no more than 3 steps ahead. Things change, and your steps to get where you're going may need to change with them, so just FOCUS ON NOW and doing what you can now. You cannot control everything going on around you and all those 'everythings' will affect your goal or intention so just focus on what you can impact right now.
Don't worry that the path ahead is murky or unclear. It's like that because the future hasn't been created yet. Step onto your path, no matter how misty the way ahead is and trust that if you take action and step forward one step at a time the steps ahead will reveal themselves as you move forward.
